Welcome to Blakely Books

Stories can open doors to conversations that matter.

Blakely Books creates thoughtful resources for children and the adults who support them—at home, at school, and in the places where care and connection happen.

Our books are designed not simply to be read, but to help people talk, listen, ask questions, and stay connected.

The story is not the end, but the beginning.

An older woman and a young boy smile as they read Sometimes My Grandma Forgets together.
A man smiles and listens attentively to a child sitting beside him as they talk together.

Some stories help children understand what they are going through. Others help them understand what someone else may be going through.

The Be Well Series gives children and trusted adults a place to begin—with a story, a question, and a conversation.

Because understanding helps us stay connected.

Stories help us connect with each other

A young girl talks with a smiling doctor wearing a white coat and stethoscope.
A smiling woman leans toward a child seated in a wheelchair as they talk together.

At home. At school. In counseling rooms. In healthcare settings. Wherever a child needs help understanding something difficult.

The Be Well Series is created for children—and for the parents, grandparents, caregivers, educators, counselors, healthcare professionals, and other trusted adults who help them make sense of their world.

A story might help a child understand something happening in their own life. Or it might help them better understand what a friend, classmate, or someone they love is experiencing.

The story gives us somewhere to begin.

What You Will Find in Every Be Well Book

A little guidance before the story begins
Simple thoughts for grown-ups about using the story as a tool for conversation—not as a way to have all the answers.

A story a child can recognize
Children meet characters experiencing feelings, questions, and situations that may feel familiar—either from their own lives or from the life of someone they care about.

A place to talk together
Conversation prompts help children ask questions, name feelings, and share what they are thinking—with reminders for adults to listen, too.

Support for the trusted adult
Gentle guidance helps parents, grandparents, caregivers, educators, counselors, and healthcare professionals continue the conversation after the story ends.

Resources for what comes next
Carefully selected resources offer trusted places to learn more or find additional support.

Because the story is not the end, but the beginning.

About Blakely Books

Blakely Books was created with a simple belief: stories can help us begin conversations that are sometimes difficult to start.

Through the Be Well Series, we create thoughtful stories for children and the trusted adults who love, care for, and support them. Each book is designed to make room for questions, honest feelings, listening, and connection.

We don't expect a story to have all the answers. Sometimes its most important job is simply to help a child find the words—and to help a trusted adult be there to hear them.

Because sometimes the best answer is simply, “I’m glad you told me.”

About TG Blakely

TG Blakely is a nurse, educator, and author who believes some of the most important conversations with children begin with simply making it safe for them to ask a question.

With a background in both nursing and education, she created the Be Well Series to help children and trusted adults talk together about experiences that can be difficult to understand—or difficult to put into words.

Her stories are written with a simple hope: that children will feel heard, adults will feel supported, and neither will feel they need to have all the answers before beginning the conversation.

In all things, be well.
